About me & the purpose of the service
Nick Givanovic - bond market specialist, former hedge fund principal.
I have spent over forty years in markets. I began trading in 1983, and over the decades I have managed institutional risk for Salomon Brothers and JPMorgan and then my own hedge-fund, finally steering the capital of my own family office since 2001.
My home is the bond market — interest rates and the yield curve — the asset class that quietly sets the price of everything else.
I am not a gunslinger. In four-plus decades I have never come close to a double-digit drawdown on a monthly basis. That is not luck; it is process — patience, structure, position-sizing and a relentless focus on avoiding pitfalls. Trading, to me, is mainly about what you don’t do.
Charity Hedge Fund is how I share that process. Every week I publish my macro reasoning, my trading levels and the structure I want to employ for the trades I’m watching — across rates, equity indices, FX, gold and sometimes even crypto. I’m not selling signals to follow blindly. I’m giving you a seat next to a veteran, so you learn to read the market yourself.
After a career on the institutional side, I wanted to make this level of thinking & expertise available to individual traders — and to do some good with it. Every subscription funds my animal shelter in Nassau. That is where the name comes from.
